Session leader: Peter Herreshoff
Session topic: Geometric combinatorics, the binomial theorem, finite differences, the 4th dimension and beyond!

Geometry  provides a rich source of problems in combinatorics.  Often these problems are accessable to novice problem solvers.  A full solution, however, may take the development of new tools and skills.  In this session we will engage with a variety of problems and tools as suggested by the title of the session, ranging from relatively easy to currently unsolved.
Peter Herreshoff taught mathematics at the high school and middle school level for 25 years, mainly in the Palo Alto public schools.
