Bay Area Teachers and Mathematicians

Math Teachers’ Circles are professional learning communities of math teachers and professors. Groups meet regularly to work on challenging mathematics problems, allowing teachers to enrich their knowledge and experience of math, while building meaningful partnerships with other teachers and mathematicians.

Bay Area Teachers and Mathematicians (BATMath) is the Bay Area branch of the Math Teachers’ Circle Network, a project of the American Institute of Mathematics. There are currently 10 Circles around the San Francisco Bay. More than 300 math teachers are engaged in BATMath, with a potential impact on 30,000 students in any given year.

Our mascot, the bat ray, is native to the Bay Area. In our logo, the bat ray is reimagined as a vector field.
